South Orange County Maternity Session | Jennifer L.

Man oh man have I missed this! After 2 full months of quarantine, I was SOOOO ready to get back to shooting session again, so I was so happy that Orange County Ca began to open up RIGHT around the time that Jennifer and I had already scheduled her maternity photo session!

We had scheduled this session months ago, and we were both worried that we may need to cancel if things didn’t change! I can’t even imagine how hard it is for moms-to-be who are navigating pregnancy and birth during a global pandemic! Even if you aren’t personally worried about getting sick, the new rules and regulations are so different than what people expect when they are going to be having a baby!

Once we arrived at this location, I was thrilled to see that the beautiful wild mustard flowers and daisies were still in full bloom and super high! I’ve shot dozens of session here, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen it so full of tall flowers. It was beautiful! We’ve been luck to have had a solid month of rain, followed by some nice warm weather, so we had the perfect storm these blooms!

It was clear once we started shooting that we weren’t the only ones ready to get outside! There were easily a dozen other photographers shooting session there at the same time! This is a popular location in San Juan Capistrano, but I’ve never seen it so busy on a weekday evening! This was like Christmas session busy! Luckily with such a huge open space, it’s easy enough to keep a good distance from everyone else.

I was also shooting this session with my Tamron 70 - 200 lens, so I was able to make sure to keep my distance from Jennifer and Alex too! (yay, Social Distancing!)

This gorgeous mama has such an incredible smile that I couldn’t stop shooting her! We went through 4 outfit changes and walked all over this beautiful field! 3 of the dresses are from my client wardobe closet (the blue, black lace, and red).

I can’t wait for their sweet baby boy to be here in just another month or so! Doesn’t she look amazing for 8 months along?
